    I also use Opera.
I have not found a site that won’t work, EXCEPT for ‘Flash player’ and ‘Quicktime’ which for some reason won’t work on MOST sites even though I have the plug-ins installed.
I suggest you check your settings through ‘tools’, ‘preferences’, ‘advanced’.

I went onto fanfiction.net , the site works fine with Opera. however i’m not a registered member so i don’t know how the profile page looks like.

Maybe Opera is having compatibility problems with that site. The site’s coding on the profile page is perhaps not accepted by Opera.

You could try changing the browser identification on fanfiction and see if that solves your problem. While on fanfiction -> Right click > edit site preferences > network. Here change the identification to IE/Firefox , now refresh the page or restart Opera.

Or you can put a button on your toolbar (view in IE) and click on it when you’re on fanfiction to change the rendering engine to IE so that the page will open within Opera but will use IE’s engine. This is not a fix, but just a workaround . Go here and scroll down to the web development section and add the button(drag ‘n’ drop) view in IE to your toolbar. You’ll need the neptune plugin for this.

You can even go for the Open in IE button. This way the page will actually open in a different window with internet explorer.
